PEGO GOLF SOCIETY TEXAS SCRAMBLE COMPETITION

OLIVA NOVA GOLF COURSE TUESDAY 17TH September 2013 – Quote of the Day:- Mistakes are part of the game. It’s how well you recover from them, that’s the mark of a great player.” Alice Cooper – It was good to get back to our normal habitat at Oliva Nova from our adventure last week to El Saler. Even although Oliva Nova staff have just hollow tined the course, last week, it was still preferable to play in our home course.

A fine total of 45 players and guests turned up for this week’s competition, and the guests were as follows:- Terry Wilson, Adrian Marsh David Adams, and Ray Young. All were warmly welcomed by our Captain Michael Hollaway, and praised for their play.

The results of the Texas Scramble were as follows:-

1st Place was Malcolm Wise, Angus Muir, Alan Barwick and Paul Trigwell who dovetailed beautifully to record a net score of 61.1 off a handicap of 6.9

2nd Place was David Collins, Nigel Siddal, Ray Edmunds and one of our guests Terry Wilson, who scored an impressive 62.8 off 7.2 handicap

3rd Place was Mike Philips, Ronnie Webb, Alan Simpson and Lynn Harrison with an excellent 63.3 playing off a handicap of 9.7.

The two’s prize was won by three individuals, namely Peter Rapley, Jean Taylor and Nigel Sidall.

The “Balls in the Water” prize was not won today, so we have a roll over until next week.

Next week will be our “Captain’s Day”, and we are expecting a full house for members and guests, especially as there is a lunch afterwards in the Oliva Nova restaurant (16 Euros), so if any member or guest would like to play with the Pego Golf Society. please contact our secretary Martin Gates directly on pegosecretary@gmail.com or enter through our website www.pegogolfsociety.com. A warm welcome awaits you.
