PEGO GOLF SOCIETY ” THE MONTE PEGO CUP ” Stableford Competition

Quote of the Week:- “While playing golf today I hit two good balls. I stepped on the rake in the bunker.” Pego Golf Society presented 40 guests on parade this morning and were joined by seven guest players for the Pego Cup Stableford Competition. Our captain Michael Holloway welcomed the seven guest players today namely Doug Windle, Max Lutt, Sean Lutt, Steve Head, Keith Beer, Shane Berry and last but not least that well known Scotsman from a few years ago Robert Burns.

This week we had a prize for our guests, and that was won by Doug Windle with 33 Points.

Once again Pego Golf Society, would like to thank Oliva Nova management and staff for the superb condition of the golf course. The course was immaculate, the greens smooth, and thankfully the wind was not too strong, but still strong enough to help 115 balls into the water

Result of the Monte Pego Cup Stableford Competition

1st Place was Danny Herron, with new Callaway clubs, with a very impressive 38 Points playing off 12.7

2nd Place was Peter Chapman, again playing with new clubs with an excellent 36 points playing off 18.6

3rd Place was Roger Brown, not playing with new clubs with 35 points playing off 18.4

4th Place was Donna Green (just to keep it in the family) with 34 points playing off 12.9

5th Place was Malcolm Wise with 33 points playing off 5

6th Place was Steve Patton with 33 points playing off 9.2

Nearest the Pin at Hole 3 was won by Peter Chapman and nearest the hole at Hole 16 was again Donna Green . There were two 2’s today from Ian Robertson and yes you’ve guessed it Donna Green.

One of our most treasured members John Chessher played his last game with Pego Golf Society today, and our Captain Mike Holloway paid John a glowing tribute to his time at Pego, as a player, a Costa Blanca League Captain, and as a person. We will all miss John in the club, and all members joined to wish him and his family great success with his move to Malaysia and also wished him success with his new appointment out there. John has consistently been our best player in Pego Golf Society.
