O’ YEA, O’ YEA, O’ YEA, La Drova

O’ YEA,  O’ YEA,  O’ YEA, or maybe   ‘OLA,  ‘OLA,  ‘OLA  would be more in keeping for this event.  But as we don’t have a Town Crier to open the May Fayre in La Drova, we have gone one better and got the Town MAYOR!!!  At 11a.m. on Saturday 28th April the Lady Mayoress of Barx Maria Hernandis will ceremoniously cut the ribbon at the entrance to P.E.P.A’S Grand Charity May Fayre.
Visitors will then be encouraged to follow the Costa Blanca Flamingo Cheerleaders,  who will lead them, like lots of very pretty pied pipers into the market area, where there will be over 50 different stalls selling all kinds of wonderful goods and services.
There will be a diversion for your children around 12am when the PIRATE and his CLOWN will be looking for anyone under 14yrs to take part in their fun time, fancy dress not obligatory but definitely more fun!  And there will be sweets galore for children in costume!  Just a little bribe there!!!
Make sure you keep the whole day free, no rushing home to feed the dogs!!  Bring  them with you and enter one of the P.E.P.A. Dog Competitions. There are Prizes and Rosettes for the winners.  Enjoy the P.E.P.A. Rescue and Foster dogs parade at 1.30pm, where
you will see a few of the many P.E.P.A. success stories, parading for yours and their enjoyment with their forever owners.  These dogs would still be alone and abandoned if it wasn’t for P.E.P.A.  And the work P.E.P.A. does could not be done without your support and your money which helps to raise funds at events like this
From 2pm onwards there will be Live Music and Entertainment on the stage.  U3A Gandia will be giving a demonstration of their line dancing skills complete with cowboy hats and boots.  The new and exciting duo ‘ENCORE’ will be performing their easy listening Jazz & Sw
ing music.  Whilst the fabulous trio ‘FREEWAY’ made up of Freddie, Tony, and female saxo
phonist Carmen will rock you to the core!  At about 6pm a Valencian Folk band of native Spanish singers and dancers will entertain you with traditional Spanish folk music, rounding the day’s events off in a typically Spanish way
There will be so much to eat & drink you will be spoilt for choice, everything from the delicious, succulent hog roast to hearty steak sandwiches and a cold beer, or maybe you like the idea of fresh Mediterranean cuisine and a nice glass of wine, but, why not go with what you know and have a Cup Cake washed down with a Pimms,   or a Traditional English Cream T
ea…….the choice is yours, all of these will be on sale during the day.  Make sure your tummies are empty and your pockets are full!  Turn this into a day’s outing for all, bring your family, your friends [their friends], your pets [your friend’s pets].  Bring a blanket, bring a chair, bring whatever you want, just make sure your Tummies are empty and your pockets are full!!!  Thank you so much, for helping us to help them.  For more details see www.pepaspain.com or ring Jaine 647368322.  Directions on N322 take exit Gandia/Oest Barx 13kms.  Follow signs Barx, La Drova is just before the village.
