Javea Green Aussie Pairs

On Saturday Javea Green bowlers were treated to a “new” competition in the form of a “drawn” Aussie Pairs. Sixty four players took up the challenge and by the response at the end of the day thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The players played six ends per game and had four matches, which were randomly drawn, against the other competing teams. Each game lasted an hour so the players were on and off the green in rapid succession as there were two groups of sixteen teams in operation, see the group photo with this article. The eventual winners were Shirley Payne and Ronnie Berry who amassed 39 points while second place went to Doug Bacon and Tony McKenna with 36 points.

During the week our Winter League team and our Berleen team both secured second place and Javea would like to offer our congratulations to Emerald Isle and Quesada who were the respective winners of those leagues.
