Charity House Valencia ended the worst quarter ever, with 37,746 rations distributed each day over the last 3 months in the dining room of the Paseo de la Pechina, 160% more than the same period in 2008, and more than during the Civil War of the 30's and the flood of 57.

Although a few days ago the unemployment data, showed a slight improvement in the employment in the Region, Charity House queues are a true reflection of the social situation experienced by the people of Valencia. Following the opening of the 2nd dining hall for people and families without resources, it was expected that the numbers would decrease However, it has not stopped growing.

Currently, 293,973 residents in the province of Valencia are unemployed. The arrival of families without resources to Charity House, demanding mainly food aid, has been growing over the months along with the number of children served. It is in months of January & March,  with the long school holidays that there are significant increases. During the month of March, 155 children came to eat at the Association,

The Association points out that it is thanks to the contributions of many partners and donors that they can  meet their daily expenses which are more than 8,700 euros. "The Valencian society has not bypassed Charity House in difficult times, and its role has been essential throughout  its one hundred years of history.
