Holy Week in Calp
April 2 - April 9
Lent and Holy Week in Calp fill the town with festivity between the 2 and 9 April. Calp is committed to Holy Week and what it symbolises. The four confraternities come together to join the Festivities Commission, Nuestra Señora de las Nieves Parish Church, and Nuestra Señora de la Merced Parish Church, to organise lots of processions in celebration of Holy Week. On Good Friday, the Stations of the Cross and the Holy Burial procession take place. And on Holy Saturday, it’s time for the Easter Vigil, and finally on Easter Sunday there’ll be a gathering in the San Salvador Plaza to see the dramatic meeting of the Resurrected Jesus Christ with the Virgin Mary.
