A wonderful Lady
Sandra Broad,69 has always been a very keen fundraiser in the Uk. She hand-embroiders dresses which she gives away or auctions to help very ill children. These dresses can take her up to three weeks to make but it really is a labour of love.
Sandra has given away 120 of these dresses over the last ten years. She also works incredibly hard collecting money for the Royal British Legion and Help For Heroes.
Although Sandra lives most of the year in South Harrow, she spends about 5 months a year in her “second home” in Spain. Since she has been here, she has heard so many things about the wonderful work done by the expats for Emaus and especially for the childrens’ residential care home in Elche. When she returned to Spain a week ago, she came with two suitcases full of brand new clothes for every child at the home.
On Monday she visited the children at their home in Elche, with members of the Office for the Urbanisations of San Fulgencio, and handed over the clothes. “All the children and staff were really grateful and gave me a huge hugs and kisses. The children were so polite and well behaved.” said Sandra “It brought a lump to my throat. What a wonderful evening. “
