13,711 evictions in Valencia Region – Highest in Spain
The Spanish courts last year processed 58,241 cases of eviction, which is a record figure since records began, an increase of 22 percent compared to 2010.
The worst affected region by far was the Valencia region, with 13,711 foreclosures, followed by Andalusia and Madrid 9,864 9,460
Data from the Supreme Judicial Council (CGPJ) published today show the impact the economic crisis and unemployment has been the loss of homes, either because the tenant does not pay rent or because the owner can not pay the mortgage.
