OLIVAPEGOOLIVA NOVA GOLF COURSE TUESDAY 08th of April 2014. It was a very dull morning with local fog at the start of the game today, with the visibility no more than two hundred yards and the temperature was rather cool. We had almost a full field today with 48 players, included in that total was seven guest players. The guest players were as follows:- Doug Windle, Graham Wise, Stella Fox, Martin Livesey, Steve Head, Peter Ketteringham, and Mark Butler. All were warmly welcomed by our Captain Danny Herron, as he does every week.

The course at Oliva Nova has never looked better, with the greens freshly cut, and in wonderful condition, and the fairways just freshly cut and in fact as good as some of the

greens in other Costa Blanca Golf Courses.

The course was in amazing condition. All the tees were forward today for some reason, so the course was playing a little short

The winners of the Texas Scramble were as follows:-

1st Place:- Jim Gillies, Martin Livesey, David O'Connor, and John Nicol with an outstanding score of 56.4

2nd Place:- Roger Miller, Steve Head, Peter Ketterigham and Alan Simpson, with a score of 61.9

3rd Place Russ peters, Graham Haslam, Shaun O'Gorman and Chris Brookes with 62.4

Congratulations to all of you, but an amazing score by the team led by Jim Gillies.

There were two 2's, and they were by John Nicol, and the "2's machine" Donna Green.

The "Balls in the Water" prize was not won today and the total was 116 golf balls and this was not guessed by any member.

Nearest the hole at Hole 3 with 1.91 Meters was Angus Muir, and at hole 16 the closest was yet again Donna Green with 2.23 Meters.

Next week we have a new competition at Oliva Nova Golf Club, and that is a Singles Stableford" Competition, and if any guest would like to play with the Pego Golf Society, and who wouldn't, please enter through our website www.pegogolfsociety.com or send an e-mail to Donna Green at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
